Aldo Cristiano, Head of Institutional Affairs and Sustainability at Ferrero Germany, elected CAOBISCO President
At its General Assembly in Brussels, CAOBISCO members elected Aldo Cristiano, Head of Institutional Affairs at Ferrero Germany, for a two-year mandate starting on 15/06/2020. He succeeds Mary Barnard, President US Sales, at Mondelēz International.
Aldo has been in the global confectionery business for more than 20 years, covering areas such as Head of Global Raw Material Procurement, Head of Sustainability as well as leading roles of sector-wide initiatives and institutions.
Within CAOBISCO, he chaired the Cocoa Committee and the CSR & Sustainability Committee from 2003 to 2015.
From 2007 to 2016, he was a Board Member of the ICI (International Cocoa Initiative). From 2007 – 2017, Aldo was also a Member of the Consultative Board at the ICCO (International Cocoa Organization). Additionally, from 2012 to 2018 he served as a member of the Board of Directors at the WCF (World Cocoa Foundation) and from 2015 to 2018 as Chairman of the FCC (Federation of Cocoa Commerce).
At present, Aldo is the Vice President of the BDSI (German Confectionery Association) and Board Member of the German Food Association (Lebensmittelverband Deutschland). CAOBISCO Vice-Presidents are now Mr. Francesco Tramontin, Global Public Affairs Director, Mondelēz International, who replaces Mary Barnard, and Mr. Paolo Casoni, Head of the Regulatory, General Affairs, Legal and IP Departments of the Group Perfetti van Melle.
